Carpet vrs Vinyl decking material

I see there are various VINYL products that can be used instead of carpet.

ANY SUGGESTIONS or does anyone have experience with the vinyl products??

I am rebuilding a Tri Hull, welded aluminum outboard with center console

I removed the old carpet.
There are plywood sections that were fiberglassed and screwed in place.
Probably original technique for this boat.
Unable to determine manufacturer. ( I have tried on another forum without any luck)
