Thinking about pulling up my carpet in my 1991 Sea Ray cuddy to check the floor. Any suggestion on carpet to use and how to secure it.

Re: carpet

most auto trim companies have marine carpet. Its real espensive. Home depot sells a pretty nice one that I used to recarpet my boat looks good and was real easy to cut. Contact cement over the plywood is your best bet. Carpet adhesives I feel add additional weight that isnt needed

Re: carpet

Got mine from Menards - they sell the stuff off a roll, in either 6 ft or 12 ft widths - no seam!

Re: carpet

Laakefly, BoatUS sells marine carpet. I have also used indoor/outdoor carpet from Home Depot, when I found a color I liked. Home Depot also sells latex-based indoor-outdoor carpet adhesive. It is put on with a notched trowel, and is waterproof upon drying. It worked well for me, although it is not too sticky, so you may have to tape the carpet to the gunwales or other vertical surfaces to get it to stay put until the stuff dries.

Re: carpet

I found the gray marine carpet at Lowes to be a dead-on match for the original gray carpet in a 93 Cajun bassboat I am redoing. An added note of interest: If you use contact cement on sharp corners or wrapping edges it will stay in place the first time. But, remember it will stick on the first touch !!!
@-@
JBR
