Hi all... First time in this section of iboats.
I have a 1981 Alumacraft bass boat that i am doing an overhaul on. I recently have completely stripped the outer hull of old paint, oxidation, etc and have repainted with an oxidizing primer and... rustoleum. Hey, it worked on my old jon boat when i painted it 8 years ago.... Anyhoo, The next piece of the puzzle is putting carpet on the inner hull. I was going to do the anti skid coating but my wife "convinced" me that since we have a very young son who will be spending time on the boat that i should re-carpet... I have already pulled out the old carpet, removed all old adhesive, and cleaned/sanded the hull in preparation for this task but the weather here has been seriously hindering my progress (no garage). Should I blow alot of money on marine carpet or will a good quality outdoor carpet from Home Depot or Lowes work ok. I'm also re-decking the front and back. I don't want it to look "rigged", i want it to like it was done by a professional. Can i use salt treated plywood as opposed to marine grade plywood? After all, i am on a budget. I've added some before and current pictures from my phone...
Thanks, Tim
