Carrier Nut Tool

Hi, so i got a 2005, 25HP merc outboard. Im Removing the prop and need to get the carrier nut off. Checking the gears n such, I have no reverse. I don't want to buy the tool. Part number 91-93843-1 . Anything I can use? Or fab up? I know it's left handed thread.
Any tips for removal . thanks!

Correct size piece of pipe with notches cut into it ?-------On some of these the thrust washer in front of the prop was the tool.-------You simply turned around and used the prop to turn it.

Does anyone have a tool? What would the exact dimensions of a pipe? The ID and OD?
I might just try and try a a couple different sizes I have.

Be aware that the carrier assembly is a left hand thread.

yup thanks, just need a perfect pipe. i got all winter to tinker way at it.
