My carter mechanical fuel pump on my 1989 460 King Cobra failed.
So, after searching found that the mechanical pump for this engine no longer available.

What I have now is Carter P4389 marine electric and the safety switch A68301.

The pump is mounted after the fuel/ water separator filter and added a brass tee to install switch in oil sender hole along with oil idiot buzzer switch.

The pump + wire has inline fuse I wired in and is connected to the "P" terminal on safety. I also know what the "I" & "S"
terminals are.
I can't tell from the instruction sheet that come with is how/ where the ignition and starter wires on the switch get connected to.

It appears from picture that I might have to run 2 wires from corresponding terminal of key switch. Or, are they to be spliced into the corresponding wires at the harness plugs?

Thank you in advance for looking at this and any & all help you may provide me with

I have attempted to add the included diagram

Ayuh,.... Yer fuel pump will be fed by 2 different wires,...

For Startin', it's powered by the tiny outside terminal on the starter solenoid, at battery voltage,...

For Runnin', find the Ignition wire on the motor(usually Purple), 'n feed it to 1 side of the oil pressure switch, the other side of the switch, goes to the fuel pump...
