I have a 1980 Carver Santa Cruz 26.
About the forth owner. Trying to base line the prop. Currently it is a Federal Equi-Poise 16 x 14R x 1-1/4.
Single 351W Ford 285 HP
4200-4400 RPM range.
1:1 Velvet Drive tranny.
Walter V-Drive.
Have not run this boat yet as I bought it with a toasted engine and reversed the final drive to left hand as the new engine is right hand. So I don't have any base line data such as max. speed or engine RPM at speed.
The prop looks to have be re-built and it measures 14 1/2" OD which doesn't jive with the 16" thats stamped on the hub. (I'm told the first number is diameter. True?)
Could any one tell be what was the original prop for this boat?
Or, have any idea what should be on it.
Use is mostly cruising. Not too concerned about optimum top speed, or 1/4 mile times. Just efficiency.
TIA Dave
