Cavitation plate fin

I was looking under my cavitation plate tonight, thinking of changing my prop to a 17p from 19 to increase my rpms and noticed that there is a fin (or skeg looking fin) under the plate. It has several settings that look to be adjustable. The fin is set over to one of the last marks instead of being centered. Is this something that I need to adjust or is it set from the manufacturer at an angle. How to adjust if necessary?
(Yamaha, 115hp, 4 stroke)
Thanks for the help,
Glen

PS. Are all prop wrenches the same size. I need to buy one and see that they have them in bass pro shop magazine so that I don't have to take my boat to the dealer as I am trying to set up my boat and engine.

Re: Cavitation plate fin

Glen.....all outboards will torque right. (nature of the beast)....the trim tab helps to cancel out the torque. Looking from the back of the engine, losen the trim tab bolt and turn the trim tab in the direction of torque....to the right side of the rig. You can get this setting to far so set it to where the right torque is canceled out.

EDIT: Larger motors usually take a 1 1/16" socket on the prop nut. What I do is find the right socket and rachet and throw them in the boat box.

Glen - If your boat does not pull to port or starboard then I would leave the trim tab alone.
