Cavitation plate problem.

I've just noticed that I'm missing 2/3 of the cavitation plate on the left side. <br /><br />My boat is a shallow hull 12 foot aluminum and the motor is a 9.9 HP merc. I've never run the 9.9 on this boat. If this going to cause significant planing problems?

The thing may throw a lot of water, you should be able to find a prop shop to weld a new one on---Bob
