Im a new boat owner, and just purchased a 92 228 cuddy,27 ft, and had a question : top speed/rpm/and at plane Id like to make sure of a prop selection
given (two people, full tank of fuel)

I have a '91 Concept 228 w/5.8L Cobra, I normally carry four or five people With an 18" pitch prop my boat will top out at 45 mph, according to GPS. WOT on my engine is 4400 RPM. The 18P prop will let me go to 4600 or so, but the lower pitch gets on plane quicker with a boatload of people. The Bennett trim tabs dont hurt either lol.

It'll cruise 35mph, at 3400rpm. I had a 17P prop and the boat would jump out of the water, but I had to have 3000 rpm just to get it to stay on plane. You could probably go with a 19P, and be right at the sweet spot with only two people. Hope that helps
