This engine has a CD2 Ignition system installed. The shop manual calls for a QL77J4. The wire/boot cable says L77J4. the owner has L77JC4's installed. I plan on going with what the manual calls for.

According to the Champion plug breakdown, the Q in the designation is for a resistor for CDI systems and the C is for the Copper Plus design.

Will the ignition system be damaged in some way if the resistor plug is not used? What about the Copper Plus design :D

BugMud.... Either plug is acceptable. If you need a plug to help quiet down noise that's interfering with electronic equipment, use the "Q" plug. Set the gap at .040 .
