my 94 112 johnson might need the stator replaced. CDI seems like reputable, knowledgable people. I have a 6 amp unregulated system. The same motor in a long shaft came with a 9 amp regulated system. CDI sells 9 amp stator for both applications. They tell me this wont be a problem. seems to me my voltage will run higher, and I will cook my battery more? Would this be high enough to cause problems for electronics? Anyone know how I could change over to a regulated system? My rectifier already needs replacing as it has a bad diode, I would guess the regulator would bolt right on, IF I knew which and where to connect the wires.

You could buy the 90hp voltage regulator that fits on the top aft cylinder block area where there is a flat water cover on your motor now. They are about $70 and will take the place of your rectifier and give you a fully regulated 9amp charging system.
