REMEMBER: Cell Phone Numbers Go Public this month.
REMINDER..... all cell phone numbers are being released to telemarketing companies and you will start to receive sales calls.

.... YOU WILL BE CHARGED FOR THESE CALLS

To prevent this, call the following number from your cell phone: 888-382-1222 888-382-1222 .
It is the National DO NOT CALL list It will only take a minute of your time.. It blocks your number for five (5) years. You must call from the cell phone number you want to have blocked. You cannot call from a different phone number.

HELP OTHERS BY PASSING THIS ON .. It takes about 20 seconds.

Re: Cell Phone, DO NOT CALL LIST

Not true . . . it's just rumor:

Summary of the eRumor
The eRumor warns that cell phone numbers will soon be published in the same way as the numbers for wired phones and that you should sign up with a new government cell phone "do not call" registry to prevent solicitor calls from coming to your mobile phone.
Some versions say the cell phone numbers are being handed over to telemarketers by a certain date, such as January 1, 2005.
Some versions say there is a deadline for listing your cell phone on a "do not call list" such as December, 2004.
A recent version claims that the cell phone companies are required by law to release the names by June 1, 2006.

Although Snopes is not always correct, it has had the info on this being baloney for a very long time. So have numerous other sources.

Absolutely call or register online and get your cell phone number on the Do Not Call list. The do not call site is for real, the fact that the numbers are about to be released to telemarketers is what's false.

Re: Cell Phone, DO NOT CALL LIST

I am on the do not call list for my home phone too. Sure doesn't stop them.

So now when they call I ask them if they can hold for a second. They of course say yes thinking they can sell me something. I let the phone sit and go do whatever I was doing before they called. I am sure it drives them nuts.

I should remember to read the whole thread before reacting to the original post. I immediately sent out an "urgent" message to everyone in my contact list. Opps. I do remember this going around before (via email) and my taking the same action.

I don't. I did not ask them to call me. Why is it OK for somebody to just call me and interrupt what I'm doing to try to sell me something?

I would feel bad if I wasn't rude to them. They were rude for calling me.

Ayuh,... I've had only a couple of nuisance calls to my cellphone... Now I won't answer a call from a Blocked #...
Luckily, the last 1 left the callback # in my phone...
A quick reverse lookup on the internet revieled it was a company phone of an outfit in Calipornia...
Soooo,... I called their 1-800-#,+ commenced to bytchin' out the poor ba$tard that answered the phone, who explained it was a Co. phone given to an employee....
Soooo,.... Plan #2 went into effect,.... I try to remember to call that # every single morning when I get up at 5:am, east coast time....
Nobody's answered it yet, but it rings,+ rings,+ rings....:p
