Anyone know a good source to get a replacement or even the right kind of frame materials to put something together? It's for a late 80's style bowrider with an aluminum taylor made windshield set-up from the factory. surely this is an issue that others have dealt with, just need an idea of where to start. I want to be able to have a bow cover made and use it with a full windshield while it's cold to keep my cold sensitive friends out of the wind...

I'd rather not invest in a whole new windshield to get the one panel...

Thanks in advance for any pointers in the right direction...

ive used plexi and lexan. lexan scratches a little easer, but not so much as to make a huge difference. you will have to replace either one every three years cause they yellow and scratch. but they are cheap.

cheers

Give dimensions of what you are looking for...or pm me. I have a complete 3 panel windshield from a 16' silverline sitting in my shed.

Re: center panel for bowrider windshield...

Thanks for the replies and sorry I took so long to respond... measurements for the center panel are approximately 15" across top, 16 1/4" across bottom, 17 5/8" top to bottom front edge, 17" top to bottom rear edge. The front side panels angle back at 40 degrees where they would meet the center piece. I may shorten the entire windshild 3-4 inches across the front and then taper the sides to meet the hull mid-cockpit as they do now.

I'm really only planning on using the center windshield panel when the weather is cold and would prefer set it up so it's realitively easy to put on and take off. Perhaps something that would just slide into place (doesn't need to be hinged to swing open and closed as far as I'm concerned), but would need to seal fairly well. My intention is to make or have made, a heavy duty, waterproof snap-in bow cover, perhaps with a couple of cross supports made to close in the bow and cut down on wind for playing when the weather is cold. I ennvision primarily using the center glass and bowcover together...

Thanks! Tim

Any glass shop should be able to help you. Just make darn sure you use tempered glass, laminated glass or, polycarbonate for the pane.
