I have a 1989 Evinrude 88 hp. When I pulled the plugs out yesterday I noticed that 3 plugs were Champion L77LC4 and 1 plug was Champion QL77LC4. What is the difference in these plugs and would it have made a difference in performance?

Actually, it is an inductive suppressor, not quite the same thing as a resistor, but the same purpose. A resistor suppresses all frequencies of electricity, and inductor is tuned to certain undesired frequencies and does not suppress useful voltages. Layman't terms here, maybe an electronic engineer will get on me for that.
