I have this 1967 johnson reveler closed bow. I am thinking of moving the fuel tank farther forward ( the fuel tank is in the front of the boat right now.) and moving the dash two feet forward. I would have to cut two feet out of the front top of the bow and I would like to turn it from a dash to a side counsel. Will this take away from the overall structure of the boat if i do this, am I making it unsafe by allowing to much flex once the top of the bow is shortend? Any thoughts or comments would be great. Also I will post pictures of the boat later. I know, everyone want pics. lol

Re: changeing floor layout

You must really be in love with a 40+ year old boat to want to make such big changes. Post a few photos and it will really depend on the current construction....but anything is possible.

If you thing you will end up with a more effective fishing boat...... you will be spending big bucks...... it may NOT work for the balance and control of the boat while underway....... and it may need some structural changes.

Darn right we want photos :D

a agree with bob vt, you have your handsful on an old boat, the weight you may be adding to the front will make it handle different, be cautious and take one step at a time. I like the look of the boat, fixing it as is with a new paint scheme would be cool

Hello fishingfreak,
Nice looking boat. I like the lines of some of the older boats.
