changing 4.3l mercruiser engine

Can a 1988 4.3l Mercruiser be replaced by a brand new 4.3l Mercruiser MPI (fuel injected) ?<br />Does the MPI engine fit on the transom and does it fit the Alpha one Sterndrive ?

Just as slick as a booger. You will need to change out the power steering ram due to the hose connections are different and the new engines don't use the split washers under the rear mounts.

sounds good.<br /><br />Any good source where to get a new 4.3 l w/injection ? Or is it possible to upgrade a carb. version to an injection ?<br /><br />Also I would have to get rid off my 1988 4.3l V6 (just 163 hours on it).<br /><br />The reason for the injection engine is that we will relocate to Germany soon, in order to get the boat registered there (lake constance) we need to have an injection engine (plus some minor modifications there).
