changing CD packs and stuff to something more reliable

is there anyway to do this? i know merc took force over so did they change the ignnition at all and leave the stock internals? mine anrt bad yet but i was just wondering if there was an alternative?

A MERCURY ignition system that's RELIABLE??? Heck, that crap they call ADI Ignition keeps my kids fed and clothed. They should eliminate the screws and just velcro the components on.
