Hiya,
Could someone please advise if its possible to change the ends of the throttle and gear cable ends, Ive currently got a 2 lever control box v old and v stiff, bought a second hand quicksilver single lever control box with cables, but the ends that fit on the engine are different, can they be swopped and if so how?

If it helps my engine is a Ruddy 6 HP from 1974

Cheers
Pete

That Merc control box, and cable's won't match up with your OMC 6 hp.

I don't know that a quicksilver box will work with your motor, but there are adapters for other cables that may work with it...Others will know for sure...

Quicksilver won't work. Besides, check this out, but I don't think any remote control will work on a 6 unless you get a remote control adapter kit for the motor. It's an accessory kit.

Re: Changing Control Cable Ends

hiya,

I may not of made myself clear but its just 2 cables and a lever, 1 for power and 1 for for/rev, just wondering if I can remove the plastic ends and replace them with my old cable ends?
