I have a 1978 Kingfisher that is rated for a 75 hp motor .I am running a 55 hp evinrude.I have a CMC tilt and trim on the boat and it has a 6 inch off set would a 85 hp evinrude be to much for the boat? Thanks for any help.

I agree. 75's are usually 3 cylinders and 85's are usually 4 cylinders and quite a bit heavier. Add to that the added weight and fulcrum action of the CMC unit and I really think the 85 would be over doing it.
