I have a crestliner superhawk 1700 with a 2008 merc 115 efi 4 stroke with the 2.07:1 Ratio. I want to change from the 13x17 black max to a stainless and I am in need of help deciding which one to go with. Antivent plate is even with keel and the motor is in the second hole from the top. Usual load is 33 gals of fuel, and full live wells, about 50 lbs of gear and 400lbs of people. Hull weight is 1300lbs, outboard is 410lbs, 2 marine batteries, and 2 anchors.

13X17 black max 39-40mph @ 5700 rpm
The boat has very slow plane time with 2 people and full live wells and maxes out at about 5200 rpm. With just me it is still slow to plane and only hits 5700 rpms

13X15 4 blade solas rubex 38mph @ 6400 rpm
The black max looses bite really easy when trimming out.
The solas bites really well but I think will allow the engine to over rev.
It will even hit 6400 with 2 people and full live wells

If you want to retain the 4 blade characteristics it appears a 4 blade 17" would give you about 6000 rpm and 40-42 mph.

I bought a solas rubex 13X17 and it dropped my rpms to 5400 and only 38 mph.
