Re: Changing hydraulic line
I just changed one leaking line on my Merc 260. Peice of cake. The line was in stock at my marina service center...$35.00 included the fluid to replace when you change the line, you will loose approx 1-2 pints. Might want to use a plastic milk jug to catch the fluid (under pressure). Make sure you take the aft part of the line loose first so you can direct the fluid left in the line under pressure to the container, be quick, then the front. I brought the old one once removed to the marina to make sure I got the right one for replacement.

Once the new line was installed you will need to refill your hydraulic pump. The fill hole was fortunatly easy to see. It's on the top of the main body of the pump resevoir. Just remove the screw cap and fill the resevoir. Replace the screw and run the unit up and down a few times. Remove the resevoir screw and fill the resevoir again as the fluid will be used to refill the empty lines. Good luck
