Hi Folks,I have bought an old 1970 Larson 21' boat with an OMC outdrive. Here is my problem.I want to change the impeller cuz the boat has not been in the water in a few years.I have tried to take the lower unit off to get to the impeller housing but there is a wire harness in there that is making it difficult to get the housing far enough off to get to the impeller housing it self. The boat has a "Shift-Elect" running the motor and outdrive and obviously this harness has something to do with shifting. What do I do to disconnect that wire or get some slack out of it to do this impeller work.Remember,This is an old boat so I don't want to mess with the wiring to much as it is probably brittle. Thanks alot,Dave :(

You should be able to remove the top bolts 5 bolts and swing the outdrive out of the way to expose the water pump. The water pump is NOT located on the gearcase, but within the intermediate housing.

TMD
