Well guys its time to start thinking about the boat again!I currently have a 1982 90 hp evinrude on the back of the woody and for no other reason than it will look more PERIOD CORRECT i am going to be putting on a 1963 75hp starflite.Of course the 63 had the old style cable steering vs the 90,s single cable push pull system and does not come equiped with a through tube.So my thought on this is to get a t&r marine front mount steering bracket which looks like it is perfect for this application.Question is how would i hook it up to the motor end?Theres a bracket on the steering handle right now that was used for the old stlye steering ,do i just hook up to that or does anybody have any suggestions or thoughts about adapters or anything else?Iknow the t&r will go on the motor bolt holes then the steering goes through it then the steering linkage is suppose to hook up to motor ,thats the sticking point unless im just not seeing the forest for the trees!

all you need i one of these, you will have to reverse the tube, but that is very easy.

the t&r marine set up is basically what your showing there ,what im more concerned about or maybe i shouldnt be is where or how to hook it up to the motor, does it just attach to the steering bracket on the 63 which is vastly differnt than the 1982 motor?

as you can see from the picture there is a bracket attached the the steering attachment,is it just a matter of taking it off and putting the linkage on there, there is a hole for such a possibilty behind that knob in the middle.am i going in the right direction here?

look in the BRP accesorries catalog.
they used to make a plate that bolts where your cable system is bolted now to adapt a single cable to that front bracket.
