Re: Changing OMC Outdrive Oil

There are three ways to fill Cobras. Either of the first two will work. 1) Per the manual, install the bottom plug (with a new gasket). Using a pump that you can purchase from your local OMC/BRP dealer, install it into the middle hole and fill untill the oil level is correctly located at the upper dip-stick. OR 2) leave the middle plug out, fill from the bottem untill oil comes out of the middle hole, plug the middle hole and continue 'till the oil reaches the upper hole/dip-stick. Personally, I use the second way and that way I don't have to really "change" HOW I do it, just adding one additional step (waiting for oil to reach the middle hole. And the third way is to..... do it any other way than the first two and suffer long term financial problems
