Changing Prop

Hey Fellow Fiherman. I am in need of a little help. I am trying to replace my prop on my Minn Kota Turbo 756 xm trolling motor because the blades have broken off, (long story). I took of the wing nut from the post that screws on but can not seem to get the prop off. Is there a trick to getting these off or Do i just need to use a screwdriver and give a little persuation to get it off? I need help! thanks.

The end of the shaft should have a slot in it. Try holding it while turning the prop back and forth. The shear pin is most likely bent keeping you from pulling the prop off. Since its already broke, you may have to force it.
