Wondering if I am missing something here. I have tried to pull the old steering wheel off to replace it and it will not budge. Tried a 3 claw puller, and hate to put any more pressure on it in fear of breaking or tearing up the original wheel. Is there something I should be loosening other than the center nut on the wheel?

Here's what I did - loosen, but do not remove the nut. Back it out far enough where the nut is above the shaft threads. Pull out on the steering wheel - hard. Give the nut a good whack with a mallet.

Let me know how it goes as I'll be pulling out the dash on mine soon enough...
