Hi, I just went to replace the impeller in my 35hp 1960 gale out board and when I pulled it off the crank shaft a small o ring about 3/4" fell off and now I don't know where it came from to put it back! Anyone know where it came from!?

Do you mean pull it off the driveshaft?

There is an o ring at the top of the drive shaft beneath the splines. It keeps water out of the powerhead. Im assuming when you pulled the impeller up off the driveshaft it pulled it off with it. Be sure to replace it, and re grease the splines

Hi 35Johnson. Wlecome to iboats. I agree that it may have been the small, o-ring at the top of the driveshaft. It's a standard part and you should be able to reuse/replace it pretty easily. Here's a handy link.
