Changing Yamaha Lower Unit

I have a yamaha 150 '05 4 stroke on my river boat. I live out in the bush country of alaska, so no dealer I can take it to. I am a relatively good small motors mechanic, i.e snowmobiles, bikes and quads. I am new to working on outboard motors, especially the newer types. I had the dealer install a jet unit on the motor before sending it to me by air, and he also sent the prop type lower unit. This season, the river is high and I want to have the prop on to increase my mpg. Is it as simple as removing the bolts above the pump housing and removing the unit, or is it more complex than that? It is currently at the docks, how much time on average would it take. I will not be doing this alone, several friends will help me get the boat up and out. It has the jet unit installed right now, and the other unit is under my house with the prop and everything. What are the steps for installing the prop unit? Thanks.

Anyone? It looks like I have to take off the housing to get to the bolts. I want to get started on it but just need to know how to get those bolts off.

remove the pump unit and shift cables. remove the pump to exhaust housing adapter. then install the prop type lower with the correct attaching bolts. the pump impeller has to be removed to access some of the pump removal bolts best I remember. reattach and adjust the shift cable to the motor.

no I dont think so.
I think the lower unit bolts are different from the pump adapter bolts. I honestly cant remember and I just did the job 3 weeks ago. I do it twice a year for a fisherman. for mullets in the flats in Hatteras he runs a jet. for long nets in the pamlico he runs the prop. but memory says the bolts are different. some of the water pumps differ as well. purchase a pump kit with a housing and the 2 spacers and wave washer and retainer kit and keep all the parts seperate.

Rodbolt,
How about jumping to the Evinrude Forum and finding me a dimension for the driveshaft shims like we talked about a couple of weeks ago. You are the onlyone that has even attempted to help with my 73, 50 hp Evinrude with the gauge dimension for shimming the driveshaft. I have the book, but it's not in there and the bearing is a flat Torrington type. SRAY
Thanks
