I have a 2004 Yahama T50 4 Stroke engine on my 20 Ft. Sweetwater Pontoon Boat. I have added a Trolling Motor that can be installed in Emergencies. I would like to maintain the charge in the Trolling Motor Batt. with the Generator on the main engine.<br /><br />Following is the connection design that I am planning to use: 1. Trolling Batt. to be charged only with Engine Ignition on. 2. Diode isolation of charge circuit to the Trolling Batt. 3. SPDT switch to allow monitoring of either Batt's. voltage with the console volt meter.<br /><br />Should there be additional isolation in the Trolling Motor Batt. circuit such as current limiting ? If so, what is suggested ? Different Circuit altogether ?
