Don't just look at the connections. You need to take all of the battery connections apart and make sure there is no corrosion. Don't forget the battery ground connection on the engine block. If all of the connections are clean and corrosion free, then I would suspect the starter itself.

How old is the battery? It could be time for a new one.

Is the engine starting ok otherwise? Does it smoke excessively or get poor gas mileage? If so, you may have a tear in your fuel pump diaphram. This will cause the lower cylinders to load up on fuel and this causes resistance against piston movement.

This is assuming you have done all the electrical cleaning and have had your battery checked with a high rate discharge tester or hydrometer.

Figured it out, bad battery, put a new deep cycle in turned the key cranked like it should, took it out all day today no problems. Thanks!

FYI, deep cycle batteries are mainly for trolling motors and such. You may want to exchange for a marine starting battery. Just a thought.

Agreed, deep cycle batts will not stand up to being sharged all the time while the motor is running. Not to mention, the thing will be alot more exspensive than a normal battery.
