Charging Cell phone in car causes radio interference??

When I put my cell phone on charge in my truck it causes radio interference on the FM stations. The weaker the signal the greater the static. The interference only occurs when the phone itself is connected, plugging in just the charging cord has no affect. What gives, bad shielding? Am I getting cooked by the interference producing RF.

mine interferes with the computer if its to close to it, but it's not constant. Is it a constant or intermittent interference?

You have to live with it. Mine causes not only FM but also ALL radio interference.

The AC charger also causes "noise" on the computer (laptop-wireless), if it is anywhere near.

I've found that the OEM chargers cause allot less "noise" than the jippo's.

I've had a chance to try many chargers. We have four phones (All Sanyo's) so that we can interchange chargers, etc. The OEM chargers aren't cheap but there is a difference.

Well that just HOOVERS, guess I'll have to start charging it at home at night. That or give up listening to the radio.

Phone is slinging a bunch of RF. Try charging the phone turned off. It should still charge, but you won't receive calls......

Buy a surplus ammo can and put the phone and charger inside that. The steel will probably block most of the RF....

I must admit, that's pretty sharp, I just wonder if it would work.

I suppose I could build a small Faraday Cage for my phone, and keep there while it’s charging.

Have you tried Radio Shack for a filter maybe?
