Long story. This is a 200hp Evin. 1996 model that ran like a watch until last month. Picked up a plastic bag and overheated. Warnings work, nobody saw or heard them though. Replaced water pump, pulled heads, no damage, put back together and tested. Ran fine but no tach or charge voltage. Replaced voltage regulator and worked great in driveway, on the water it shut down the tack and charging @ idle speed after 2 min, return after 2 min @ 3000 rpm or more, did it over and over. So I replaced the V/R again and now have Tach 100% but charges @ 14.25V at anything above an idle. Between the 1st and 2nd V/R replacement I changed both thermostas and found a broken spring on blowoff valve that did cause one episoed of 2500 rpm limiter engagement. Now when running at 5200 rpm for several minutes the changing circut comes on @ 14.25, then drops out to battey voltage and cycles like that every couple of minutes, sometimes couple of seconds. Anyone who can follow this post please help. I can be reached by email or cell if you need more clarity. I'll supply that later if nessasary.
