What is the recommended voltage that should be reaching your batteries? Is there much of a voltage diffrence from WOT to idle? I may potentially have a charging issue. I dropped my batteries off at the auto parts store today to have them checked. They are only 6 months old but am not ruling out that they may be bad all ready. Just want to double check before making some off shore runs. The motor is a 96 Yamaha C150. Thanks alot!

Re: Charging System

14.3 would be normal. There would be a voltage difference if you have a load on them. It would go up with the rpms then. A light load should show about the same at either speed. You should have about 13.6 volts on a hot battery with out a load. Check before turning switch on and then with the motor running. The batteries must be fully charged before checking.
