I know these are all Chinese Knockoffs that are on Amazon, and I am planning on buying a Steering Pin from somewhere else, but has anyone used one of the 304 Stainless steel knockoffs in an Mercrusier Alpha Gen 2 outdrive, I am Curious, has anyone been using one as a replacement, is it working, holding up, has it failed?
I am assuming as long as your running a Stock 260 5.7L or smaller there should be minimal issues using this Part. As long as the Steering arm is tight and the PIN is properly machined to fit in the steering arm there should be minimal issues. In my application where I have done some engine work, I would rather use the 17-7 hardened Stainless material to make sure I don't need to tear that outdrive out of the boat again.
