Will this work?

please forgive me in advance if this is a stupid newb question.

i was thinking about buying 2 or3 of gallons of antifreeze and mixing it with fresh water 50/50.... then dipping the stern drive in a bucket containing this solution.... then idling my engine until the temp become normal and the antifreeze has warmed up a bit....

Will this work?

because if it will, i'll be able to use the boat for fishing all year without worrying about a block freeze.... also this would be easy enough to do on cold days after fishing, and do it on the launching ramp.....

No.

And if you try it, we won't have to wait till spring to find out if you have the first cracked block of the season.

It could work if you run the engine until the thermostat opens and circulates the AF.its going to be messy as some of the water comes out around the gimbal housing not all from the prop.
If you learn where all the block, manifold and other drains are located that should take about as much time just to unscrew those.
Doing it at the ramp with anti freeze is a big no...

Also, how do you plan to recover the anti-freeze?

Want the easy, safe and FREE method. Drain it. air don't freeze. and when you are ready to go, just drop it in the lake and hit the key.
