Please fellows do not waste your money on the "off brand" grey fuel hoses. Buy the Merc or Brp hose and bulb... These are packaged "alcohol" resist but only the liner inside line is resistant. Below is pictures from yesterdays repair on a buddy of mine's BFL boat.. He was having: surging problem, bulb not wanting to pump up and shutting down. I pulled the bulb and found brownish debris in check valve, looking into line I found the "liner" was breaking up due to ethanol fuel. He tows the boat with near empty tanks and has to take what ever fuel is at tourney site. By the way this hose was installed at a "dealer" a month ago when he had compressor fail during a tourney. I replaced entire hose with 3/8 MPI Marine grade fuel hose and new "Merc" bulb, replace the water seperating filter and replaced diaphram in fuel pump. A test run was performed a is fixed!!!!:D

Re: Cheap fuel lines........

I would say that what you're said pretty much goes for everything... Stick to the OEM and you won't have problems. Getting the job done right and it lasting is the cheapest repair.

I have always been amused (and amazed) by people wanting to 'save' a couple of dollars on cheap parts and consumables (oil in particular) and risk thousands in repairs caused by those cheap parts..... I guess water pump impellers come to mind... By what logic can putting a cheap (quality dubious) impeller in an engine be a good thing? I really wish I understood the logic...

Chris.......
