I have a 2000 Johnson 150 on a 19ft bass boat. It runs great but just today the check engine light and alarm started coming on at wot. The motor runs great it doesn't cut out. It is not hot it has 25 lbs water pressure @ wot. I have had to stop and shut it off to reset the alarm. I starts right up and runs great. As long as I stay at half throttle it will not alarm. Can anyone steer me in the right direction on this?

I check the fuel water separator and it was clean. I pulled the down tube thinking maybe the check valve was sticking. The check valve had already been removed by the previous owner. I put new fuel line on it 3 months ago new primer bulb and all from the tank to the motor. Nothing is kinked or bent or restricting that I can find.

Faztbullet, engine water seperating filter with an alarm in it. On a 2000 Johnson 150?????? Thought Johnson was still carbed, not DI.

Re: check engine light and alarm

Just an update. The problem was getting worse every trip to the lake to test it. The problem was a fuel restriction. After a month in the shop and several trips to the lake we finally checked the brand new gas line I had installed not 4 months earlier. This was the last thing we check because it was new. The line was epa certified and alcohol resistant the latest greatest stuff and it was not cheap! The line had de-laminated and closed internally. This also took out my VRO. I am in the process of talking with the gas line manufacture about my $1500.00 repair bill.

I don't suppose you would want to tell us who manfactured the line or the brand name ???

it was from BPS they did not manufacture it but it had their name on the package. They are in the process of making it right. They did agree to pay my repair bill.
