Hello again!

My engine will not start. (454HD-1972 45hp chrysler)
*I know the starter works as I have put battery connections directly onto starter and it turns over.
*I have also joined the two wires from the neutral switch together to bypass the switch and nothing.
*I get 12v+ when I put test lead on two sides of the solinoid (big cables) and nothing on little yellow that comes from top of solinoid.
*I have - when I touch the red and blue together there is a small spark and when yellow wire is touched it doesn't start the starter (it did last week!)-(not got it wired to an ignition switch.)

I would like to know how to test anything else it could be: starter solinoid, circuit breaker, rectifier.

Thanks

Try removing the solinoid and use a battery charger as shown in this picture. Attach the red lead of charger to where the yellow wire was connected and the black lead of charger to the mounting bracket.

Connect a Ohm meter to the two big leads on the solinoid. When the charger is off you should not see any ohms. When you turn on the charger the ohm meter should go down to less then 1 ohm. If this happens your solinoid is working and you are not getting voltage to the yellow wire somewhere .
