What is the best way to check out the coil, and power pack on my 1972 65 Hsp. Evirude. Cranks well but does not start at all. Seems to be getting gas.

Thanks
Skip

Re: Checking current or voltage

Well the way that I always do it is put a screw driver in the coil. (Phillips) And get it close to a bolt or some good conductor for a ground that is on the engine and have someone turn it over and it will spark if it is good. Some are blue sparks and some are orange. Keep the screw driver about a centimeter from the bolt or metal.
