OK guy and gals, I picked up a 1995 Sea Ray 195 O/B and not sure it its waterlogged or not. I took it out for the first time Sunday and around 15-20 MPH the bow was up higher than I would have thought and didn't get it up faster than that to see if it would come down. The boat was stored on the water from what I was told year around and has a little ding in the stern that I don't know if it would leak. it also has a waterline on the outside that doesn't seem to fit. I drilled in the floor and it only went down 2 or so inches and feels like I hit more fiberglass. I don't want to drill more into the unknown so that's why I'm asking you guys. Any advise would be awesome. Sorry not letting me upload pictures

welcome aboard

dont drill into the floor, you drill in the stringers to test the stringers
you take core samples of foam if you can get to the foam.

take it to a scale, weigh it and compare to the boats specs

hull could be water logged
motor could be down on power
hull could be full of barnacles

Get a couple more posts in, and put up some pics. Look at the stickies on drilling test holes.

1995 Sea Ray 195 bow rider info

I have looked high and low for any information on my boat and haven’t found much. I know the boat was only made for one year and I know what power plant it has but not much beyond that. Anyone have a place to go? Looking for stock HP, prop info, weight and hopefully parts list or expanded view of the boat

Would or could the water only stay in the stern of the boat?

no, water could be saturating the flotation foam thru-out your boat. especially with a 24 year old boat.

You CAN and prolly SHOULD take a 3" hole saw and cut into the deck. Use a stud finder to ensure you're NOT over a stringer or bulkhead. Just drill thru the deck Prolly 1/2-3/4" and stop remove the HOLE PLUG and keep it. Fashion a piece of 2" PVC about 2 ft long and cut some "Teeth" in one end and a hole thru both sides at the other end. Use a large screwdriver to go thru this hole and use it for a handle to "Drill down thru the Flotation Foam until you hit bottom. this will allow you to have a Core sample of the foam as well as see if water is pooled down below the foam. If so then you're looking at a Gut Job to repair any and all damage caused by the water. If it's dry, then fill the HOLE with some Great STuff expandable foam and then use the Plug you kept to fill the hole in the deck using Fiberglass filler and some Resin and Glass. Hope that all made sense.
