On page 754 of the 2010 Sierra catalog there is an illustration of what I assume Chevrolet engines,(they show dist at flywheel end) explaining the difference between STD rotation and REV rotation. Caption for engine on the left (STD Rotation) says "If flywheel rotates left, dist turns clockwise" CORRECT. Caption for engine on the right (REV rotation) says " If flywheel turns right, dist turns counter-clockwise" WRONG! Rev rotation Chev engines use a 2 gear cam gear drive; the cam STILL turns the same direction as a STD rotation cam;(the lobe profile, however, is ground in a mirror imagine) Why you ask? Has anybody seen an reverse rotation Chev oil pump? Dist still turns clockwise; you simply wire the plug wires on the cap (starting at #1 and going in a clockwise direction) in a 12756348 order as opposed to the std 18436572; cyl numbering stays the same. Sorry for ranting, but misinformation like this ticks me off-and does nothing to forward the knowledge base
