Desperately hunting for early to mid 70's Starcraft Chietain Cuddy cabin. I have read some place in the forum that the same boat was once called a starchief. Please help with clarity.
The boat that got away from me was a 74 chieftain 22.5ft cuddy cabin. Looking to restore the boat and get lots of use the boat. Love the style/design of the boat and I'm here to learn and become a permanent fixture on the forum sharing the knowledge I recieve and experiances. Please respond with any info on the boat in search: 1970-74 chieftain 22ft-24ft cuddy cabin. No need for it to run, the point is to restore and learn. Location does not matter.

Welcome Mark, if you go through a few threads you will see information on all the Starcraft boats. There are Islanders, SS's, Jupitors, Chieftans, Starchiefs,and more info than you can shake a stick at. There is a brochure thread that has pics too. You will find that there are quite a few people looking for what you want, and they share their finds too. Good luck, we look forward to new members. Dale

Why limit your self to a mid 70's. I have a 1986 chieftain 21foot and it looks the same as the 70 vintage. an 80's may not cost anymore. When you get that age condition dictates the price more than age.
I would love a 24 footer but I think those are real rare.

I agree..and FYI..

It has been on CL for a looong time..a few months at least.
I should have SAVED up the money by now to go get her!
I am actually going to be in that area (300 miles from me) in 2 weeks.
If you like..And you talk to the owner..I can go get better pics and look at her...
But I would be heartbroken at the same time..Understand?

HAHA it's so funny how people are with I/O's and outboards. Personally, you couldn't GIVE me an I/O. :p

haha- I hear ya ezmobee. I had an outboard leave me hangin 13 miles out in the gulf. NOT A GOOD FEELING-I have never been comfortable with one since. On the other hand, I have friends who have inboards and have had the same situation. Just dumb luck I guess:D

thx man- im not trying to copy you, I have had a heck of a time trying to find a nice blue for the bottom job. I have finally found a nice navy blue in a commercial paint. Gonna sample it- I looked at the rusto royal blue- it just didnt look right to me. Your paint totally compliments the boat-NICE.

Got hold of him and yes the boat sold about a month ago. Just missed it. Looks like shipping is going to be my mountain on this boat in Orlando. Promised myself I would never make the drive to orlando again since driving the wife and kids to disney. Crazy adventure and you have to be a night owl.
