This is the first year we will not have children at home for christmas. My wifes little girl (8yrs old) will go to her dads this year, all the others are out.

We were thinking about a trip to London or Paris or somewhere in Germany. Just to experience other cultures at Christmas.

Any one been overseas at Christmas, or have any recomendations?

Hmmmm . . . well you could go to Norway, pet a reindeer and do the 24 hours of darkness thing on the Solstice.

How about Rome? I bet the Vatican is a party around Christmas. I know, Bethlehem . . . on second thought . . . Rome.

Spud,

Stay home, sleep in, share a bath with your wife, enjoy each other.

Norway was really nice in December. Cold and short days, but lots of old town charm.

I know the feeling. I brought it to my wife's attention that this Christmas would be the first since 1975 that it would be just the 2 of us Christmas morning. Sometimes a man just doesn't know when to keep his mouth shut.

Re: Childless for Christmas

Staying home, costs are a little steep for what is going in my life right now.

Plus, last time I was in France ( about two years ago), while driving I got a lot of those photo traffic tickets. Didn't know what the flash was while I was driving, figured it out the last day we were there. Couldn't read the letter they wrote me. I didn't pay anything. So if France is like the USA, an arrest warrant is out for me there. Does anyone know how long I might be in trouble with the French traffic system. I can just see it now, at immigration, them cuffing me and taking me to jail.
