Finally done!!! Two more bedrooms to go now. Master and guest bedrooms. I took a week off work to do this. I work slowly, and fairly meticulously. My Father-in-Law calls me Micrometer Man. It took me four days/nights to nail down the flooring. The rest of the time was base moulding, painting, moving the ceiling fan, and patching holes in one wall from two wall sconces and various dings and gouges from my almost 3 year old. Please forgive the huge photos. For some reason, my computer won't allow me to upload photos the "normal" way tonight. It's probably my own fault, but these computers at work are touchy sometimes with what they will and won't allow you to do.

The flooring is Acacia (Asian Walnut). It's solid, 3/4" thick and 3 5/8" wide. It's prefinished, with an 8 layer aluminum oxide satin finish.

Next is The master bedroom. Can't wait!!! My back and shoulders... crap, my whole body still hurts from swinging the mallet for the manual flooring nailer I have. Pneumatics are easier on the body, but you can't get the joints as tight as you can with the manual. With prefinished flooring, it makes all the difference in the world.

Here's some more of the room...

The painting was done by my Great Uncle when I was 7 years old. When I moved to Georgia, and my wife and I were unpacking, she fell in love with it. It was the inspiration for the nautical theme of our children's bedroom. A worthy tribute to my Uncle Larry. May he rest in peace.

You know if you would have asked I could have told you how to wire up the TV so that all the wires were inside the wall.....

The room however looks great! Very nice work!

Thanks... Got it covered, though. They'll be inside the wall soon.

That is gorgeous wood...and I love the look of those tall floor moldings. Hey, where did you buy the sailboat ceiling fan?

Thank you.
The fan is made by Kitchler. Believe it or not... I got it at Lowe's!!! That's not the craziest part. It was a special order return. The original price was over 400. It had been marked down 8 times. The price was now 69.00. I asked the Store Manager what is the best you can do on this, it's been marked down 8 times and it's still here. He gave it to me for 35!!!:D. It's hard to tell in the picture, but the antiqued brass body looks like an old upside down bouy. It's got the compass points on it, and there's a ring that goes around the base mounted to the ceiling which also has the points of the compass boldly embossed. I took the base ring off temporarily because I've got to alter the ceiling medalion I just put up which prevents it from locking onto the base. I'll do that soon. I got the ceiling fan 6 or 7 years ago; but if you google it, you may find it. I don't think I have the paperwork from it anymore, but I'll look to see if I can find the model/model number for you. Lowes may still be able to get it.

Havn't found mine yet, but I found this site which has hundreds of nautical ceiling fans. They range from 158.00 to 1500.00. This one is 319.00: http://californiafancompany.com/az-nautical-ceiling-fan-raindance-white.aspx I'll keep looking for the one I have. Have fun looking... They have SO many. The Cassablanca sail fans are really nice, but they go from 1200.00 to 1500.00:eek: ouch!!! But you get what you pay for. I have two Cassablanca ceiling fans in addition to a two hunter's, the Kitchler, and a Hampton bay. Havn't seen anything that meets the quality of a Cassablanca. The higher end Hunter's are close to the lower end Cassablanca's.

Being the owner of a construction company I am very critical of the work I see being done by others. I have to say you did a top notch job on that room!! It shows pride and craftsmanship! Great Job!

Thank you Bob.

My Great Uncle's last name was not Veneziano. When I was a boy scout, however, I had an adult leader with the last name Venezia;).
