Does anyone have any experince with these Chinese ATVs that are being sold on the web?? I just ran across these the other day and they look interesting to me. Some of them look awfully close to the name brand units. Albeit the engines are smaller with the max being a 250cc and they are not 4x4.

At the price they look like they could be fun.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=6726&item=2454683881

You should stay away from them and anything else made in china. They stole our nucleor technology, they dont honor nafta. We buy tons of crap from them and they dont buy squat from us. Just remember the next SUV you buy from them could be part of a guidence system targeted at the United States

Wouldn't touch it with a ten foot pole. It only has a 220 pound capacity, I would void the warranty riding it with just my skivvies on! Spend the extra bux and get a real wheeler, Polaris Sportsman 700 or 500 H.O.

Turn around and run as away fast as you can. Our instant gratification country is paying for China's military build-up. Did you know the government owns all businesses in China? Not only that but thier metalurgy technology just flat out sucks. I've personaly seen several of those "bargin" Chinese tractors literally break in half when they try to lift an empty bucket attachment. Besides, why put your money into a foriegn economy when there are so many out ou work here?

I've got no money right now to buy anything so I'm not serious. I was just surprised to see this competition out there and wondered if anyone had bit on them.. To a certain extent I agree with the posted politics, but I wonder how many of the name brand units are mfg'd right next to these units and slapped with a large markup. A good number of name brand ATVs are Japanese (Honda, kawasaki, etc..), so the buy American thing doesn't apply there..

I thought about those too. My thinking was, if you occasionally ride, then they will probably be fine.

If you ride all the time, it will break.

They are cheap for a reason besides the labor, it uses cheap parts. Also remember that parts may be hard to find. I think Geelee (not spelled that way, but sounds like that) is the most common import.

I searched on the net when I was thinking about them and could only find one person that said they owned one of the small ones for his kid and said it worked OK, but the ball joints kept going out.

As for other comments (that really are for a differnt fourm), I can only think of one maker of ATVs that is American (Polaris).

Remember they said the same things about the Japanese products about 50 years ago.

And I am pretty sure that not every company in China is owned by the goverment, but that is for a different fourm.

Ken

They're doing the same thing to American cars. They have plants right now that just duplicate American cars without any regards to patons copywrites etc. Please, I'm begging, you don't buy this crap.

Re: Chinese ATVs

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but China has two currencies. One when you go over there and exchange your American dollars to theirs so you can buy a chinese big mac, and the other for their slave labor, which the gov can reproduce at will. So in essence they can produce these products for the price of fuel.
