What is the proper way to test and adjust an electronic choke. I have a 1985 3.0 liter mercruiser with a 2 barrel mercarb. I know there are three screws on the front of the electonic choke, if these screws are loosened, the face can be turned to open or close the choke. Thanks for your help.

Re: Choke adjustment

You loosen those screws and then turn the dial left or right to enrichen or lean out the choke. You should have a line on the face of the dial near 12-oclock (straight up) that should point at some grooves on the housing. These are the index marks. Each engine has a different beginning mark and acceptable adjustment range, usually +/- 2 notches.
