I am building a 351w for my boat project and its going to be a blowthrough setup but I need carb without a choke. Also, a falme arrestor is required? I will be using a carb that is that sufficient enough?

a flame arrestor is required and smart. just a little gas fumes with a small spark and your boat project is ashes

What does a "blowthrough" setup mean? Yes a flame arrestor is required. Lots of people grind off choke horns on race engines with little or no problems - as long as it's warm enough wherever your from that cold starts won't give you trouble. Not sure what your last sentence means...

A little info goes a long way. But I can see through this. (I think). If your using a Plenum Box around the carb, just tear the choke out anyway that looks like it will work, and if the air intake is nowhere near the carb, no flame arrestor needed. I'd use a good K+N Marine filter on the intake though.

A blowthrough setup is a turbocharger or supercharger blowing compressed air through the carbureator. A carb hat goes over the cover to direct the forced air from a pipe to the carb inlet.

It looks like this, the carb hat is on top of the carb.
