I’m fixing up a 1983 Mariner(Mercury/Yamaha) 25C 695 tiller handle and at the same time adding electric start to it. On the diagrams, there is a choke solenoid that is wired to a switch. Is there any reason I would have to have this? With it being tiller, I can just manually pull the choke if I need to, right?

Thats true, but if your starting at the front of the boat and your choke is at the engine it could be a pita to have to go back and forth??
