I recently purchased a 2007 Chris-Craft Corsair 25 with 125 hours on a Mercruiser 496 MAG Bravo 3. It had been purchased new by the previous owner and had been used only in fresh water. The pre-purchase survey and sea trial revealed few problems. The boat is now in dry storage on a trailer. All systems were working fine until I made the mistake of running down the house battery while performing routine maintenance. As the house battery ran down, all of the auxiliary 12 volt systems became inoperative. I replaced the house battery with a new marine battery, as i did not know the age of the previous battery. I tested the new battery. It is fully charged. However, all of the 12 volt auxiliary systems powered by the new battery continue to be inoperative. The new battery is installed correctly.

Any thoughts about the cause of this problem? Is there a some sort of relay that shuts down the auxiliary system to prevent the full discharge of the low house battery that now will not work? All of the perko switches are in the correct position, and all breakers from the batteries appear to be working properly. I am beginning to think from internet posts it is an uncleared ECM fault, that I hope will clear when I start the engine.

Two weeks since above post-- the problem is now solved, thanks to the help of the excellent customer service at Chris-Craft. The breaker to the 12-volt system had tripped. I had tried to reset it on numerous occasions, but was attempting to reset in incorrectly. This is the type of breaker I have:

The yellow trip indicator has to be reset while holding the red breaker button down. I had pushed it to place without simultaneously pushing the red breaker button down, thinking that would reset it. The breaker then looked like it was reset, but it was not. Be sure to push the red button in while resetting the yellow trip indicator. I hope this helps someone else with a similar problem.
