Re: ChrisCraft Boats

Being one of the oldest manufacturers of boats, Chris-Craft has achieved and maintained a pretty consistent reputation of the highest level of quality. IMHO, going from a Bayliner to a Chris Craft is like going from a Yugo (if you're old enough to remember those) to a high-end Mercedes.

And a good boat they still make. A few years back they were bought by an English fellow who kept the manufacturing going in Sarasota, FL.

They make a complete line of boats from 20' runabouts, center counsoles, and up to 36' cruisers. visit their website, http://www.chriscraft.com/

I have nothing but great experiences with my 32' that is now approaching 13 years young.

Enjoy,

I have nothing to compare with but my 20 yo rig is still in good shape and structurally solid.

Concur, Chris Craft is and always has been a very very good boat but keep in mind this is a 22 year old boat and if it wasn't taken care of it could be in bad shape so it woudl be well worth the money to have it surveyed.

Even a Mercedes can be trashed if not taken care of.

Ditto. My Chris is very well built with top-drawer materials, but water infiltration in the transom or stringers would turn it all to junk.

Re: ChrisCraft Boats

We have had our 2000 20' bowrider for 4 years now, and have not had a single problem. It certainly helps that the boat was well cared for by the previous owner. I was worried about the quality when I heard they went into BK shortly after my production year, but the quality from what I can tell is no issue.
